PEMMICAN, A TIME HONOURED TRADITION
As a traditional First Nations food, Pemmican has been a staple for Indigenous people for centuries. Making Pemmican is a time-honored tradition passed down through generations. The process involves drying and pounding meat, mixing in berries for sweetness and antioxidants, and adding rendered fat for preservation and energy. This process is not only time-consuming, but it also requires the use of traditional methods and buffalo hides.
These delicious snacks are made REAL, all-natural BISON! The whole food ingredients are simple: Bison, Saskatoon or blueberries, Pure Maple Syrup, Sea Salt, Pepper and Smoke. That’s it!
*MITSOH means ‘eat’ in the Cree Nehiyaw language.
